About the event

Introducing Walt Patton, a true hero of Cleveland, Ohio, dedicated to reducing violence in our community. Raised in Cleveland's Central community, Walt witnessed the devastating effects of violence up close. Unfortunately, he also experienced its impact firsthand, leading to an 18-month prison sentence. However, it was a life-altering moment that reshaped his outlook on life—a heart-wrenching incident where he lost his best friend to violence.

In response to this tragedy, Walt embarked on a mission to make a positive change. He became deeply involved in non-profit organizations and went on to establish his own, including the Free Thinkers Group and the Anti-Violence Youth Program. Furthermore, he created a vital resource center for the residents of the Central community known as the Club House Essentials.

Walt Patton's unwavering dedication and tireless efforts are an inspiration to us all. He is a testament to the power of transformation and the impact one individual can have on their community. Join us in honoring Walt Patton, a true unsung hero whose work is helping to create a safer and brighter future for Cleveland, Ohio.
